If Your Cuisinart Coffee Pot Breaks, Rest Assured, Cuisinart Has A Replacement Carafe

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Susan_Bravero]Susan Bravero
Alright, so assuming you're an avid coffee drinker, you know that the carafe is just as important - if not more - than the coffee itself! The good folks over a Cuisinart seem to think so as well. Drinking coffee is something that most of us do every day and everyone already knows that if you are repeatedly using something day in and day out, it's bound to either wear out or break. Yes my friend I'm telling you that chances are one day your precious carafe may break. But when that day comes, no need to worry! Cuisinart has replacement carafes that will get you right back on track to your coffee sipping mornings (breathe).
How many times have you faced disappointment when you've bought something and when it's time for a replacement it's nowhere found? Or you've had something for so long that when it breaks you find out that they don't even make that model anymore? Oh the horror! Luckily Cuisinart has made this issue a thing of the past! They offer their replacement carafes in 10 cup, 12 cup and 14 cup. They also have replacements for every coffeemaker they offer and they have it in an array of colors! Their carafes are available in white, black, red and even pink.
Your replacement is literally at their command. Now I know it's hard and seemingly pointless to brag on a carafe, but don't get mad at me, be mad at the big-wigs over at Cuisinart for making such good products! Cuisinart product lines are reliable and high quality, and their carafes are no exception. Cuisinart carafes come with nice, thick glass, so they are definitely not easily broken. One great boasting feature is Cuisinart carafes do not leak! I know that it's unbelievable but this is actually something that you're going to have to see on your own. They are also the perfect size making it easy to pour into small mouthed containers as well as your coffee cup.
The design is also very attractive, which fits right into the design of many homes.. Like I stated earlier, it's almost too hard these days to find a replacement anything, let alone a replacement carafe. You, as a consumer, deserve to have an exact replica of something you once owned.. Cuisinart never fails to amaze, as they always seem to keep the consumer in mind with their top of the line products. It's no wonder why they are one of the most known and trusted brands in the industry.
Now I know this article has you excited but please refrain from throwing your carafe at a wall just because you know you can get a replacement at any time. Just know, that when the time comes for you to buy a new identical carafe, there will be one available for you.

Why a One Cup Coffee Maker Is a Great Purchase!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joyce_Journet]Joyce Journet
Owning a one cup coffee maker can be a real advantage at breakfast time. Whilst instant coffee could never be accused of tasting anywhere near as good as the freshly brewed, gourmet variety, one of the advantages it does have is speed. You fancy a coffee and it's ready. Conventional coffee machines require planning and a delay before you can get to drink your cup of java! But now with the arrival of one cup coffee machines all this has changed and you can drink the real thing in record time.
If you have a conventional coffee machine you may have noticed how wasteful it can be. Stop and think of how many times you have made a pot of coffee, only to pour half of it away. Even the most dedicated coffee drinker struggles to drink a whole pot, they shouldn't anyway and if you try reheating it later, it never tastes as nice and is often bitter. With a one cup coffee maker this will never be a problem and you will save money by not wasting your coffee.
The single cup machines tend to be smaller and neater than regular versions and they cost less. They can be left conveniently in a handy place on your counter top, ready whenever you fancy a cup and take up hardly any space. You can use a one cup coffee maker with any type of ground coffee or freshly ground beans, they usually have a small built in filter, so there is no need for the messy paper kind. You simply place the coffee in the filter and the water in the holder and it filters through. This is also useful for tea drinkers, who can put either loose tea or even a teabag in the filter for their favorite brew. These filters are very easy to clean and make no mess. The speed of the machines is remarkable as most make your brew in less than a minute, and many in around thirty seconds. You can use almost any mug and some are supplied with a travel mug as a useful extra. As many of the coffee makers are small they are practical to take with you when traveling.
If you are thinking of buying a one cup coffee maker, first look at the selection. There are now quite a variety with some using pods containing coffee which are available in a wide range of blends, instead of ground coffee, and in some you can use either. If you like to try different flavors, the pod type could be ideal as you can experiment with several sorts of coffee. You can just buy small amounts of pods if you want to try one instead of a whole bag of the ground variety. There will be a wide difference in prices, some of the machines are very reasonably priced, but other more sophisticated versions will cost more. It is a good idea to read the reviews of the models you are interested in before buying. Whichever type you purchase, you will be sure that every cup of coffee from a one cup coffee maker you drink will be as delicious and fresh as it can be, with no variation in the flavor or the strength.

The Story of Gabriel De Clieu: A Coffee Visionary

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dave_Cunliffe]Dave Cunliffe
From the mid-17th century, coffee was increasingly popular in the Western World. Various European powers had tried to grow coffee without any success due to the specific growing conditions required for the plants to thrive. However the Dutch had led the way in mass production by introducing the crop to their colony in Java (Indonesia) where warm and humid conditions coupled with the high altitude were an ideal growing environment.
Gabriel-Mathieu de Clieu was born in Normandy, France in 1688. He joined the navy and by 1720 he was appointed Captain of Infantry. He was stationed on the Caribbean island of Martinique and being well aware of the commercial success that the Dutch were having he decided to bring coffee production to Martinique in the name of France.
Whilst on leave in Paris in 1723, his first task was to obtain a coffee plant, which was actually very difficult as the only coffee plants in France at that time were under the guarded care of the King's botanist. He overcame this problem by seducing a lady of the court who in turn used her charms on the royal physician. He 'acquired' a small coffee seedling for de Clieu.
In preparation for the voyage of his precious cargo, Gabriel de Clieu designed and made a small glass box to house the plant on the ship's deck. This would protect it from the salt spray and the elements but still keep it warm and allow the sun rays to penetrate.
His journal tells of an eventful journey, with the ship being threatened by pirates from Tunis, a violent storm and then a long period when the ship was becalmed and water was rationed. Captain de Clieu shared his meagre water rations with the coffee plant for over a month.
Perhaps worst of all was a passenger on board (believed to be Dutch), who jealous of the mission, attempted to sabotage the plant and even tore off a branch in a vicious attack.
Captain de Clieu lovingly tended the plant throughout the arduous months on board and eventually they arrived safely on Martinique. Due to the fear of theft de Clieu located his precious plant within view on his estate, surrounded by thorn bushes and guarded round the clock by slaves until it reached maturity.
The first harvest was a great success. Soon after, a terrible cyclone uprooted all the islands cocoa trees, closely followed by an earthquake in 1727 which submerged the land and destroyed the native people's main source of income. The coffee crop took the place of the cocoa trees and began to thrive. In fact just 50 years later the one little seedling imported by de Clieu had produced 18,791,680 coffee plants in Martinique alone!
Coffee plantations were being introduced throughout the islands of the Caribbean and at some point the Brazilian government sent a spy to steal a plant from the French. From this act grew the World's largest coffee empire.
It may be a little romantic to believe that most of the World's coffee is descended from de Clieu's little seedling but his endeavours cannot be underestimated. Captain Gabriel de Clieu died in Paris in 1774, aged 88. He was eventually honoured with a memorial but never received any financial reward for his efforts and died in poverty.

Buying Coffee Beans Online

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jeff_Diacik]Jeff Diacik
If you are a true coffee lover then you may well be somewhat dependent on your cup 'o Joe. It may well be that in order to wake up in the morning and get your work hat on, you need to start the day with a strong hit of coffee in order to switch your brain on and stop your eyes from closing over. Likewise you may use coffee as a social drink and this may be the main way that you like to relax with friends or colleagues, or it might be a lunch break pick me up for you to enjoy in a coffee shop somewhere on your lunch break.
These are all uses of coffee and if you have got it as an important part of your life then it can be hard to imagine it without it. Someone comes round for a visit and your natural impulse is to say 'coffee?'. You wake up first thing in the morning and the first thing you do is make yourself a strong coffee. You get bad news - you make a coffee. You get a new book that you're excited about reading - you settle down to it with a coffee.
All of these things then are reliant on coffee and without it it can feel like there's a whole in your life. You may even end up spending a lot of money on all those mugs and this is why it's important to find other ways to buy coffee and to enjoy it.
Enter the coffee you can buy online - and there really is a lot of coffee bean you can buy online in order to enjoy feeling energetic and switched on first thing in the morning. This way then you can buy coffee that is a particular blend and this way you can enjoy having your very own filter coffee flavors to choose from. You can then give your guests a selection. Would they rather a late? A shot of espresso? A Christmas blend? And people will be hard pushed not to be impressed.
This way you can also buy in bulk and that will save you a lot of time and money - not to mention ensuring that you never find yourself lost without your favorite hot beverage. A great way to enjoy these coffees too is with a coffee machine that can be set with an alarm. If you've ever struggled to get out of bed, then imagine hearing your alarm and then knowing that you are being made a nice filter coffee that you can hear pouring. You will almost always want to get out and drink it and especially when you smell the sweet aroma - often that smell alone can be enough to wake you up.
So consider looking online for your coffee. You may find you can buy cheaper and in more bulk, and you might find that you can buy a range of different blends that you weren't aware of and which you might find even more tasty and exciting.
It has now become more common for people to [http://www.mycuppa.com.au/]buy coffee online. Usually they will buy fresh roasted [http://www.mycuppa.com.au/]coffee beans and grind them before brewing each cup.

Espresso Vs Coffee - How to Make Espresso

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joyce_Kaaland]Joyce Kaaland
There are many ways to make an espresso, and there are many ways to make coffee. However, espresso is the drink of the day. Like the many ways to make an espresso, there are a number of reasons why people drink espressos. An espresso made with Arabica beans has less caffeine in it than drip coffee. People drink espressos as a social drink at places where they can sit and talk. Some may say it is a fad, but I think it goes beyond that. Espressos have many different tastes from not only just Arabica beans, but a variety of bean blends and from a great number of flavorings and spices that can be added to personalize their choice.
A home espresso machine makes espressos by released heated water and steam under pressure through compressed coffee grinds in a portafilter. This combination of hot water and steam under pressure creates a very specific and different action on the ground coffee than how regular coffee is made. It is a chemical process that coffee makers cannot achieve.
Espresso machines come in several categories. There is a moka maker as well as simple pump machines, semi-automatic and super automatic ones. A moka pot is an Italian steam-based stove-top espresso maker. The bottom section holds water and usually has a pressure valve. A filter piece filled with ground coffee is in the middle and the top section that will hold the brewed espresso is screwed onto the bottom section. When the maker is placed on a hot stove-top burner, the boiling hot water and steam are forced through the ground coffee into the top part of the maker. This is a low pressure espresso and is very popular although some do not consider a moka maker as a true espresso machine.
A handpresso holds a ground coffee pod in a basket for one cup of espresso. Pump the machine until 16 bar pressure is achieved and then add the hot water to the reservoir and tighten the lid. The next step is to add an Easy Serving Espresso (ESE) pod to the portafilter and close the lid. Then you simply press the dispenser button on the top of the handpresso and the quality espresso will flow out through the dispenser spout on the end.
Pump espresso machines and semi-automatic machines have an activation switch that engages the machine's pump for hot steam. These machines use finely ground coffee in a porta-filter for the steam to go through. They also have a frother for making cappuccinos. An automatic machine heats the water, pumps up the right amount of steam and then runs on its own. Super automatics are fully automatic espresso machines that can be connected to a water line, grind your coffee the way you have it programmed and brew your espresso to your pre-set conditions stored in the machine. The latest models will make a pre-set recipe for each person just by their pre-set thumb print.
Commercial espresso machines make espressos and other drinks the same way as some home espresso   rel=nofollow [http://www.coffeemakersshop.com/page/441011582]machines. However, they are made for much more constant use and are designed for registered baristas.

Coffee, Kona Coffee Festival And Barista: Hawaiian Perfection In The Cup

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Timothy_S._Collins]Timothy S. Collins
Recently, I was visiting a Barista friend in Hawaii which is the only American state where farmers grow and sell coffee beans commercially. Hawaii has mineral rich volcanic soil that produces some of the world's best beans. My barista friend paused to sip some freshly brewed 100% Extra Fancy Grade Kona specialty gourmet coffee before continuing. Kona coffee is harvested by hand. The family-owned farms are usually small. Kona coffee grows on the slopes of Hualali and Mauna Loa, located in the North and South Kona Districts of the big island of Hawaii. The Kona designation applies only to the beans from these Kona Districts.
The barista stopped to welcome a couple of regular patrons. He took their orders and explained that he was telling me the story of Kona coffee and the Kona Coffee Festival. The patrons expressed interest in the topic and asked how soon the festival would take place. Not until early November and it is well worth attending, said the barista. Before we get into details about the festival, let me share with you why Kona coffee is simply fantastic,
1. The soil conditions are basically coffee perfect.
2. Add to that recipe for success the sunny mornings, regular rainfall in the afternoons, cloud cover in the mornings, not too much wind and mild nights.
3. Kona snow, as we call the coffee flowers that bloom in February and March, are followed by green berries in April and finally red berries between August and January.
4. Each tree is handpicked and yields between 20 to 30 pounds of cherries. The cherries are processed through specific steps we can discuss in the future, if you would like.
The result is this great specialty brew worth every penny I charge!  Upon hearing his, everyone laughed hard and nodded that the coffee was delicious but it was expensive. Yes, the barista said, certified Kona coffee is expensive because the production is limited which makes the beans rare and in very high demand.
Okay, said one of the patrons. We agree that Kona coffee is priceless. What about this Kona Coffee Festival in early November? Should I plan a visit to the Big Island in November? In the Midwest, where I live, is cold that time of the year. A trip back to Hawaii sounds very appealing. The barista replied, November in Hawaii is also a great opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving like you have not done before. What makes the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival really fun is that it has a hometown celebration style.  Visitors mix with locals and you get a sense of belonging that is very special.
Because the festival is scheduled during the berry harvesting season, the scheduled events combine activities on and off the coffee plantations. What do you mean by that?, said the Midwesterner. Let me explain, said the barista. There are "cupping" competitions for the coffee growers to see who produced the best crop for the year. There are speed-picking contests that test strategy and agility for the fastest cherry picking. For coffee fans, there are workshops about cooking with coffee, tours of coffee plantations, the history of coffee and much more. What about hula performances, barista? Oh, yeah, there are hula performances by famous Hawaiian performers singing beautiful Hawaiian melodies.
The International Lantern Parade is an evening event that celebrates Kona's heritage with groups in colorful ethnic costumes. I love the colorful and energetic Bon dance that gets everyone going each year! The Little Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant includes several crowning competitions for girls of different ages. The cultural programs include multi-ethnic entertainment, music, art exhibits, tasting the harvest of many Kona coffee estates, recipe contests, and great holiday shopping. The Kona Historical Society interpretive tour about the Kona coffee farm years from 1925 to 1945 is very interesting. The Kona Coffee Council Farm & Mill Tour is a neat experience visiting three working farms in North and South Kona. Wow, barista, sounds like a full schedule with something for everyone! Yes, indeed, replied the barista. Also, if you have the time, check out the Hawaiian Quilt Workshop and the Hawaiian Master Drum Maker & Wood Carver events.
Barista, coming to your place is always fun and educational. But it's time to go, the surf is calling. We will see each other soon for another great cup of freshly brewed 100% Extra Fancy Grade Kona specialty gourmet coffee!

Go Ahead Have Another Cup of Coffee

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sarah_Labdar]Sarah Labdar
For over the past 100 or so years coffee has gained a bad reputation for being an unhealthy addition to the human diet. However, coffee stands, chains, stores, and cafes have popped up all over the world that are flooded by customers everyday. But for all the hype, people continue to drink coffee day in and day out regardless of the stigma. Maybe that's because coffee in and of itself isn't bad for you at all.
There are several reasons people drink coffee i.e. Taste, boost of energy, caffeine content, or even because its popular. Coffee is made from coffee beans, which are the components behind coffees health benefits. The beans contain nutritionally infused compounds known as caffeine and antioxidants. Both caffeine and antioxidants have different potential benefits to improve health and reduce the risk for chronic illnesses.
Each brew produces a different roast, aroma, and flavor of coffee. Everyone is partial to his or her own flavor, preparation and additives. Coffee is a natural stimulant, containing caffeine, which boosts the body's metabolism giving you more energy and uplifting your spirits. It's no wonder that coffee is the number one drink of choice for breakfast. Many people feel they can't wake up with out their daily caffeine fix, which drives the consumption of coffee and accounts for 80% of the worlds caffeine use. Caffeine's effects on boosting energy are short term regardless of the source consumed i.e. Coffee, caffeinated soft drinks, or chocolate. Therefore the aforementioned reputation of coffee can be squashed.
In actuality coffee can help you slim down and keep you healthy. Coffee's property as a central nervous system stimulant boosts metabolism helping the body to burn calories. Caffeine increases available energy, giving you more energy to function. In addition to being a stimulant, caffeine is a mild diuretic which increases the need to urinate. The more you pee the more water, toxins and waste is excreted from the body. Lastly, coffee in itself is very low in calories, it's when you start adding cream, sugar, milk, half & half, or flavoring that the calories and fat increases. A 6-ounce cup of black coffee has only 7 calories.
Coffee's health benefits are still being explored however the caffeine and antioxidants within coffee have been found to improve health. Coffee has not been proven to prevent any conditions; only to have potential health perks. Antioxidants within coffee are age fighting compounds, which help the body repair damaged cells from oxygen free radicals. Coffee has a very strong antioxidant capacity.
Caffeine has been shown to improve a range of symptoms such as mental decline, Parkinson's disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, extra weight gain, and depression. Caffeine has been linked to fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes. In most studies the recommended coffee intake to show a positive effect is a maximum of 4 6-ounce cups a day.
Study after study is being done to show the positive effects that coffee can have on certain diseases and disorders. The most recent research shows the link between drinking coffee and lowered depression in women. The study from the Archives of Internal Medicine showed that women who drink 4 cups of coffee a day are 20% less likely to show signs of depression or become depressed. The brain receptors that respond to the stimulant caffeine when entered into the body are concentrated in the basal ganglia. This area is important for determining depression and Parkinson's. Low dose, chronic stimulation caused by consumption of caffeine from coffee makes these receptors more efficient causing one to have less depressed feelings. This doesn't lower the risk of depression however it only protects against it.
Another disease shown to benefit from coffee consumption is Type 2 diabetes. There are more than 15 published studies showing solid data that people who drink 4-6 cups of coffee a day regardless of sex, weight, or location have a 28% lowered risk of Type 2 diabetes. Each additional cup of coffee drops the odds by 7%. The thought is the antioxidants in coffee help to prevent tissue damage. Additionally coffee contains the minerals magnesium and chromium. These minerals help the body to use the hormone insulin, which is the main problem in people who have Type 2 diabetes.
